What is Delta 8?

Why Do Customers Purchase Delta 8?

Delta 8 is closely related to standard THC and has psychoactive properties. According to a WebMD feature about Delta 8, “Common THC side effects like paranoia, anxiety, and drowsiness are less potent.” Delta 8 is often described as THC light by adult customers.

On Thursday, May 19, 2022, the Ninth Circuit ruled that products that contain the hemp-derived cannabinoid known as delta-8 THC are completely legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, and are also entitled to legal protections under federal law, including copyright and trademark protection. While it is legal federally, some states have restrictions or bans.

This means that Delta 8 is legal in many states where traditional cannabis products are still illegal. But there are thousands who swear by Delta 8 in its own right when compared to standard THC products. As described in a magazine feature in Discover Magazine, which is no trade magazine or website with skin in the game:

"Delta 8 is reported to provide a much easier experience. Most users feel a great sense of calm and clarity. Many have reported a definite “high” to the experience, but not enough to imp The length of time it takes to feel the effects also separates Delta 8 and Delta 9. Delta 8 works slowly and gradually as it eases users into a more mellow state. Meanwhile, Delta 9’s onset is more rapid and instantaneous."

What is Delta 8?

Delta 8 is extracted from CBD which is manufactured from legally grown hemp. Hemp was removed from the federal list of controlled substances. While Delta 8 is considered less potent than THC, there is enough overlap where many dispensary and growing operations have taken a dim view of this potential competitor.

Always keep in mind that Delta 8 is still a form of THC. Any product with a potentially psychoactive compound should be used with caution and handled with care. It is advisable for adults who want to try legal Delta 8 to start slow and monitor their dose. Delta 8 products should be kept safely away from children and pets.

Types of Delta 8 Products

Delta 8 is well positioned for adults who have used traditional cannabis products over many years and have been left behind by the THC potency arms race. It is also a viable option in areas where cannabis has not been decriminalized.

Reputable manufacturers will be able to provide a significant amount of information on the origin of the agricultural hemp used to make Delta 8 to their customer and D8 wholesalers. This clear supply chain is made possible because CBD and D8 are coming from the same USA hemp source.

Third party testing is also important. Tranquil Earth CBD and Delta 8 products use traceable USA grown hemp and use a DEA certified lab to verify the purity and potency of our products.

The two most popular forms of Delta 8 are closely related. These are the disposable vape pen and the prefilled cartridge. In both cases, the mechanism of action is the same: vaporization.

Delta 8 Disposable Vapes

There is no beating the convenience and performance of a Delta 8 in a disposable vape pen. The Diet Toke line of D8 disposables, as well as HHC disposable vape pens, do not require filling or charging. Simply open the packaging and inhale.

We will discuss HHC below, but it essentially splits the difference between THC and D8 in terms of strength.

The disposable vape pen is a perfect entry point for a customer who is looking to try Delta 8 or HHC. You do not need to invest in battery for a cartridge. It is a true all-in-one device. It can be used on the go and disposed of once it is finished.  There is no easier way to enjoy Delta 8 than with a disposable because no hardware is required.

Containing less than 0.3 percent Delta-9 THC, disposable vape pens are tested in the same ISO certified labs as cartridge and edible Delta 8 products. They are made from fully traceable CBD. The only difference is the affordable and incredibly convenient delivery system.

The active ingredients are straightforward: 100 percent hemp derived Delta 8 distillate and terpenes. Diet Toke and most D8 disposable vapes contain 2 grams of Delta 8.

Much like disposable nicotine vapes, the quality of the flavor as well as convenience and performance are the primary attractions of Delta 8 disposable vape pens. Visit

Delta 8 Cartridges

Delta 8 Cartridges, using ceramic coil and CCell technology, are currently the most popular Delta 8 platform. They may at some point be supplanted by easy to use disposables but are undoubtably an effective product. Formulated with varying levels of terpenes and flavors, there is a Delta 8 cartridge that is perfect for every user. What is HHC?

HHC is a hydrogenated form of THC. This means that the chemical double bonds in THC are broken and replaced by hydrogen atoms. This provides benefits for both customers and retailers. HHC is more stable because of hydrogenation. It has a longer shelf life, is more durable and less susceptible to breakdown due to improper storage.

Think of HHC as being a middle ground between THC and Delta 8. It is a psychoactive substance and should of course be used with care, although it is typically said to deliver the relaxing experience that Delta 8 fans enjoy but with greater potency. Just like D8, HHC is sourced from CBD which is extracted from fully traceable USA grown hemp.

HHC is naturally occurring in the cannabis plant but is found in even lower concentrations than Delta 8. All three products act on the CB1 and CB2 receptors. It is estimated that hydrogenated THC, or HHC, is approximately 70 percent as potent as THC.

HHC versus Delta 8

The Diet Toke line has a selection of Delta 8 and HHC products, which apart from their intrinsic performance have the added advantage of not being illegal in most states like THC. Both D8 and HHC offer excellent performance, easily traceable ingredients, and impressive shelf stability. The primary difference for the user will be the greater potency of HHC.

Selling Delta 8

While a wide range of CBD, Delta 8 and HHC products are quite popular, the easiest starting point is the disposable. It is ready to use out of the box. The price points for HHC and D8 are usually quite similar. There is certainly overlap between the two. Upselling a D8 customer to HHC should be done with the caveat that it is more potent.
